Bio

A life assembled across borders

Born on March 25, 2001, in Elazığ, Turkey, Azad Kaysadu's early schooling was interrupted by a move to Wolfsburg, Germany, and complicated further on his return. In 2019 he moved to Istanbul for literature and Justice studies, then to Gaziantep, where most of his music was composed. After the 2023 Maraş earthquake he returned briefly to Elazığ before turning fully toward academic life.

In 2024 he was admitted to the Department of Psychology at the University of Oxford. Since 2025 he has continued that inquiry — now in philosophy — at the University of Vienna. A polyglot, he works across Kurdish, Zazaki, Turkish, English, German and more.

Every lyric is drawn from his own poems; most of the composition and performance is his alone, though he has occasionally worked with other musicians on specific arrangements.

13 songs across five languages — a dark revolt against a corrupt system and against existence itself, weighing a claustrophobic helplessness that runs from birth to the grave.

      Single

      An operatic composition fused with dengbêj — the Kurdish tradition of sung oral storytelling. An apocalyptic uprising announcing the fall of a kingdom built on consumption and lies. Kaysadu calls it his masterpiece.

      December 2023

      Refusing to let his work be reduced to market consumption, Kaysadu voluntarily withdrew his entire catalog — 29 tracks — from every streaming platform.
